Participation in Forest Conservation

       Currently there are seven green area conservation networks in six sub-districts, with over 200 members, taking part in green area management efforts under the supervision of Nakhon Khuean Khan Green Area and Eco-management Center, the Royal Forest Department, comprising:

1) Song Kanong Network

       Community gathered to grow plants in 63-rai area belong to Nakhon Khuean Khan Green Area and Eco-management Center, which became Suan Pa Ket Nom Klao Urban Community Forest.

       Ecotourism of Suan Pa Ket Nom Klao adheres to the practice of natural resources and environment conservation.

2) Bang Krasob Network

       Since 2008, communities in Bang Krasob sub-district have gathered under the name of “Lum Phu Bang Krasob Protector” and helped restore a 38-rai area under the supervision of Nakhon Khuean Khan Green Area and Eco-management Center with aim to preserve Mangrove apple trees in the local areas.

       Moreover, they also cleaned ridges in farms to help irrigate the area. The result of preserving of Mangrove apple trees and native species has brought back fireflies and the Khlong Lad Bang Yor community has been dubbed ‘Fireflies Village’ and serves as nature’s classroom for students and ecology enthusiasts.
