Mangrove apple
Mangrove apple trees are widely seen in the 40-rai botanical garden in the park and are easily identified by the tapered ‘breathing roots’ which sprout near their base, making it a perfect shelter for brightly lighted fireflies.

Back to the past
In the past Bang Kachoa island was home to Nakhon Khuean Khan city, a major Mon community which was settled there since the early Rattanakosin period. The traces of the Mon’s rich cultural legacy are still seen at various old temples.
